Teenagers and Alcohol - an unhealthy combination.
For adolescents, drinking alcohol contributes to the three leading causes of death for this age group – unintentional injuries, homicide, and suicide. In addition, over 50% of alcohol-related serious road injuries occur in the 15–24-year-old age bracket.
Dementia
In Australia, 10% of people over the age of 65 and 30% over the age of 85 have some form of dementia – that’s more than 340,000 Australians. Dementia is more common in older people, although younger people are sometimes affected.
Heartburn
Simple changes to diet and lifestyle may assist in preventing or reducing heartburn. Keeping to a healthy weight, giving up smoking, and avoiding foods that aggravate or cause symptoms may help reduce heartburn. Talk to your pharmacist or doctor about other strategies that can assist with managing GORD.
Shingles
No one knows exactly why the chickenpox virus reactivates to cause shingles. Factors that may play a role include increasing age, conditions or medicines that weaken the immune system, and stress or illness.
